Position Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join their dynamic team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of groundworks projects, ensuring that engineering activities are carried out to the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake setting out duties accurately and efficiently to ensure works are constructed in accordance with contract drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site staff and subcontractors.
  • Liaise with the project management team to resolve engineering issues and ensure effective communication of project requirements.
  • Carry out site surveys, measurements, and inspections as required.
  • Manage and maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings, site diaries, and progress reports.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on groundworks projects, with a strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, and infrastructure.
  • Proficient in the use of surveying equipment and relevant software (e.g., Total Station, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety qualifications.
