Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary & Benefits: £50,000 - £55,000 plus 5% pension, private healthcare plus additional benefits
Our client, a reputable multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, has entrusted us to assist in their search for a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Glasgow. This role presents an exciting chance for the right individual to work on a number of significant skyline changing projects within Glasgow.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the key contributor to the success of our client's projects, providing expert quantity surveying services, cost management, and contractual support. Your extensive experience and proficiency will play a vital role in driving the projects forward and ensuring successful project delivery.
Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Utilise your experience to deliver accurate and detailed cost estimates, budget management, and financial reports for diverse projects.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to assess cost implications and feasibility of designs, providing valuable insights to optimize project outcomes.
- Advise on procurement strategies, contract administration, and provide contractual guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring compliance with established financial targets and regularly reporting progress to the management team.
- Showcase your experience in both public and private sector projects, highlighting your ability to handle varying complexities and compliance requirements.
Requirements of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- A minimum of 5+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant portion acquired within a UK construction consultancy environment.
- MRICS qualification is essential.
- Proven experience in handling diverse projects across the public and private sectors, demonstrating your adaptability and expertise in various construction contexts.
- Thorough knowledge of construction contracts and procurement strategies, with a track record of successful contract administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate potential risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams with confidence and professionalism.
