My client is looking to bring in an Estimator to become an integral part of their team in Manchester. Collaborating closely with Senior Estimators and various teams, they’ll contribute to reporting, benchmarking, and analysis of my client’s infrastructure portfolio.

The Role:

Ideally, candidates should possess some experience in Infrastructure projects and the ability to grasp the cost drivers shaping a project and adeptness in translating engineering data into meaningful cost components. Furthermore, proficiency in comprehending both direct and indirect costs and assembling them into a cohesive estimate is desired. The role will also require the candidate to mentor more junior members of staff as well as interact with clients from diverse disciplines and build and maintain current relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in independently generating estimates at various project stages using diverse measurement methods and estimating software.
  • -Contributing to the development of benchmarking databases and reporting mechanisms to offer timely and accurate insights for decision-making.
  • Assisting in the implementation of precise cost measurement processes, encompassing progress and performance tracking.
  • Providing professional cost advice to stakeholders within AtkinsRéalis and for our clients, including Procurement Specialists, Cost/Contract Management Personnel, Estimators, and Project Controls.
  • Ensuring continuous enhancement of client policies, procedures, and resources pertaining to all cost and related control services.
  • Close collaboration with the Scheduling Team to ensure synergy and alignment between cost models and schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards or membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), ACostE, ICES, or similar relevant professional association.
  • Relevant degree or a blend of experience and other qualifications.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying techniques and a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry.
