Our client has a network of busy offices throughout the North of the UK. Their office in York is looking to expand their new civils team; you will join a leading engineering firm dedicated to delivering innovative solutions in infrastructure development, specialising in designing sustainable and efficient civil engineering projects that positively impact communities.
As a Civil Engineer specialising in roads and drainage design, you will play a crucial role in conceptualising, planning, and executing various infrastructure projects across a broad sector base. Your role will involve designing and optimizing road networks, drainage systems and related infrastructure to ensure safe and efficient transportation and water management in urban and rural environments.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive designs for roads and drainage systems;
- Conduct site investigations to gather relevant data for design and analysis;
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate infrastructure designs with overall project requirements;
- Prepare technical reports and specifications for client review and Regulatory approval;
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and Regulatory Standards.
About you:
- Degree in civil engineering;
- Proven experience in roads and drainage design, preferably in a consulting engineering environment;
- Proficient in industry software such as Civil 3D and MicroDrainage;
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and solve engineering challenges;
- Knowledge of relevant Codes, Standards and Regulations related to roads and drainage design;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively;
- Experience or interest in highways design.
