Ashley Johnson

Job role: Recruitment Consultant

Specialism: Architecture & Interior Design - The Midlands

Before starting a career in recruitment, I completed a Business & Management degree at Leeds Met University, followed by two years of travelling South East Asia and Australia. Upon my return, I began my journey in recruitment with Architecture being my specialism from the off.

I joined Conrad Consulting at the beginning of 2016 to recruit in Architecture and Interior Design throughout the Midlands region, following time spent at another agency operating in the Yorkshire region. I operate out of both our Birmingham & Leeds offices, and spend a lot of time travelling to meet architectural practices and candidates alike throughout the West Midlands region.

I try to stand out from the crowd by returning to the basics. Communication is essential throughout the entire recruitment process and is the fundamental factor for any relationship to flourish, with both candidates and clients. My working hours are by no means limited to the usual 9-5 and I pride myself on being available to candidates and clients whenever is convenient for them. Being a Recruiter within the Architecture field and regularly speaking with Architectural professionals has given me the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the market.

Since a young age I have played various sports including football, tennis, golf and cricket. Golf is the sport that has predominantly stuck with me and I have a current handicap of 3. I’m a definite “grip it and rip it” style golfer, so if someone could teach me how to putt that would be most welcome. Aside from golf, I’m a proud Leeds United season ticket holder (no abuse please) and regularly attend the gym.
