Site Manager

£55,000 - £60,000 (Permanent)

We are supporting a well-established main contractor with a strong track record in delivering high-quality construction projects.

We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee a new build project located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in managing construction projects within a main contracting environment and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project while adhering to the project timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with the project plans, specifications, and timeline.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and other project team members.
  • Monitor and manage project progress, identifying potential issues or delays and implementing solutions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Lead and supervise site personnel, including subcontractors, ensuring efficient teamwork and adherence to project goals.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management, providing updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, expenses, and resources effectively to optimise project outcomes.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and project stakeholders, addressing their concerns and providing timely updates.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within a main contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction management or related field.
