Well established firm of highly respected chartered building surveyors and property consultants is seeking an experienced senior level building surveyor to join their office based in Middlesex.The ideal candidate will most likely have worked in a commercial firm and understands what it takes to establish and sustain good relationships with various client types including homeowners, block managers, housing associations, local councils, tenants as well as introducers like architects and loss assessors etc. With clients typically coming from the Greater London and the Home Counties.The ideal Senior Building Surveyor for this role will be:Ideally our client would look to appoint a Chartered Surveyor, however, consideration would be given to appointing a non RICS qualified candidate who is a good all-rounder with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. You would be highly organised, with an ability to work on your own initiative with good commercially focused prioritisation skills and an ability to motivate and guide the team to achieve their work within agreed timeframes, along with a thorough knowledge of Party Wall is essential. A working knowledge of Health and Safety, CDM roles and asbestos legislation is an advantage. The role of the Senior Building Surveyor will be:·Leading from the front as the named Party Wall Surveyor agreeing and issuing awards. ·Coordinating the allocation and timely completion of all Party Wall projects across the team ·Overseeing the effective new business process on all Party Wall enquiries ·Maintaining relationships with key Party Wall introducers ·Working with the Managing director to develop new strategic introducer relationships
Work as part of the wider team on a range of minor and major works projects as required to include: Project preparation and feasibility assessments, condition and building surveys, defects diagnosis, planned maintenance surveys, insurance claim validation works, cost appraisal, budget reports, contract specifications, building works specification and design, advise on appropriate repairs and compile detailed work scopes/tenders.
·Liaise with and engage with CDM and other H&S consultants ·Complete payment applications, variations, final accounts and other final documentation.
