Assistant Health & Safety Advisor

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum + Benefits (Permanent)


A medium multi-disciplined organisation is looking for an ambitious assistant health and safety advisor to work in the division based in their North Essex office.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team who pride themselves on providing outstanding Health and Safety guidance and advice, to a range of clients within both the public and private sectors from SME's to large blue chip corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Health and Safety Advisor:

* Manage own project resource
* Report to line manager on fee forecasting and monthly project invoicing
* Nurturing existing Client relationships
* Actively support others in the wider company with their PD duties
* Be able to understand project expenditure / costs and profitability
* Act as Principal Designer on projects
* Act as Client CDM Advisor on projects including assisting the client with their brief, presenting on client and stakeholder duties
* Assist corporate Health and Safety Advisors to a range of clients including updating Policies and Procedures, training and workplace assessment
* A good overview understanding of UK health and safety legislation and an ability to interpret and discuss to these confidentially with others
* A good understanding of industry best practice and an ability to champion this with clients
* Providing advice on the design risk management process
* Providing advice on corporate health and safety responsibilities
* Reviewing policies and procedures against company activities, identifying and recommending improvements required

Specification of the Assistant Health and Safety Advisor:

* The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high levels of customer service excellence with good commercial acumen.
* Hold relevant professional memberships (IMAPS, Tech IOSH or above preferred)
* Qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level or equivalent
* Competent in MS office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), web based technology and document management systems)
* Ability to self-prioritise and resolve problems
