We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Project Manager to join our industry leading clients Project Management team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale construction projects in value of over £100M from inception to completion. As an Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
You will have the opportunity to manage the delivery of a landmark, intricate major project within the city centre of Edinburgh.
Responsibilities of the Associate Project Manager
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
- Define project objectives and deliverables in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
Project Execution:
- Coordinate and supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
Budget and Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring financial control.
- Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
- Approve project invoices and manage financial reporting.
Quality and Safety Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Address any quality or safety issues promptly and effectively.
Requirements of the Associate Project Manager
- BSc degree in Construction Management, Surveying, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MAPM, MRICS, MCIOB) are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
